There are exciting times ahead for the Alpari World Match Racing Tour. It's new Executive Director, James Pleasance, aims to build the Tour's global footprint through radical improvements in live TV coverage, amongst others. How does he intend to widen the appeal of match racing, reaching a larger audience base?

 

Pleasance has been involved with the Tour since 2002, when as Sales Director he managed the then title sponsor and procured new sponsors including Champagne Mumm and BMW. In early 2008, he joined Informa plc, where he helped create the Informa Yacht Group, establishing exhibitions and conferences including the World Yacht Racing Forum. He was asked to return full time as AWMRT's Executive Director in August 2012.
